Index of Revolutionary Veterans Buried in Maine (ABBOTT Surname) Courtesy of the family of the late Robert L. Taylor In 1975, a project was started to locate all the burial places of all the revolutionary soldiers of Maine. Robert L. Taylor was the chairman for York Co., Maine for this Bicentennial project started by The Maine Old Cemetery Association. After Carleton E. & Sue G. Fisher's book titled "Soldiers, Sailors & Patriots of the Revolutionary War - Maine was published in 1982, M.O.C.A. put an end to their project. Robert Taylor continued to keep his project alive by adding and correcting his copy until he died in March of 1996. If you have additions or corrections please send them to the Androscoggin Historical Society, 2 Turner St., Auburn, Maine. Or e-mail Until we find the location of all the graves of Maine Revolutionary soldiers you will not close the book on this project. Thank you Bob Taylor! Enjoy!
