Walker, on State street, last evening. There was a full attendance. The following gentlemen were elected members: General Francis Fessenden, Law School; General Samuel J. Anderson, Law School; Sullivan C. Andrews, Esq., Law School, and Drs. I.T. Dana and James A. Spalding, Medical School. Rev. Dr. Hill was appointed to acknowledge the reception of the class history of the class of '60. The old board of officers was re-elected as follows: President- Rev. Dr. Hill, '43 Vice-Presidents- Rev. Asa Dalton, '48; George C. Burgess, '58 Treasurer- William M. Sargent, '69 Secretary- William M. Bradley, '76. Col. Charles B. Merrill, Law School, elected at the last annual meeting, joined the Club, and J.D. Fessenden, Jr., class of '80. After the business of the evening was concluded, an elegant supper was provided and enjoyed. [Argus, March 24.] LOCAL AND MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS Hon S.E. Spring of Portland, is convalescing from his late serious attack of bilious colic. The American says that Mr. Wm. H. Ray of South West Harbor, was taken suddenly ill recently, and died in less than an hour. Mr. Amasa Noddin, who died at Cutler, recently, at the age of 91 years, was an habitual user of tobacco, smoking and chewing all of his days. An exchange mentions the following gentlemen residents of Chicago, natives of Washington, Co: E.B. Knox, Chas H. Noyes, J.J.P. Odell, Samuel Shackford, Smith T. Balkam, John S. Brewer and K.C. Hancock, of Eastport. Miss Nancy Snow, died at Eastport, Maine, March 22, at the age of 73 years. She was a native of Thomaston, and removed from there to Eastport when quite young, and had resided there since, a part of the time with the Wheeler family. The body of the little son of Patrick O'Brien, of Machias, was found in the pond just below where the boy fell in and was drowned last winter. SICK LIST- Mr Eri Longfellow and Mr John Lynch are regaining strength. Mr B.F. Reynolds is out on the street pleasant days. Mrs. Dr. Smith is reported much better. Capt. Abijah Crane is improving. Mrs Lucy A. Boutelle, widow of the late Capt. Charles Boutelle of Brunswick, died at the residence of her son Capt Charles A. Boutelle, editor of the Bangor Whig, April 5, of erysipelas. She was born Aug. 19, 1820. She has two sons, Chas A. and Edward P. connected with the Whig, proprietors and editors. The Commercial says that an explosion occurred in Granger mine at Bluehill, April 2, caused by a drill striking a cartridge, blowing up Hugh Magher, and breaking his leg. Samuel Curtis lost his eye, and James Billings was cut badly about the body. The men were alive Monday morning, and hopes are entertained for their recovery. Mr. Billings married a sister of Mrs Theodore S. Smith of Machias. Latest report states that Mr. Curtis cannot live. MARRIED In East Machias, April 2, by Hon J.C. Talbot, Sherman Gardner and Abbie M. In No. 14, April 5, by Rev Mr Meservey, Chas E. Ellis and Miss Minnie L. Phipps, both of 14. DIED In the asylum, St. John, N.B., March 27, Joseph C. Kinnear, aged 68 years; he had spent most of his life in the United States having left New Brunswick, his native Province, when quite a young man. In Eastport, April 4, Miss Catherine Clancey, aged 75 years. In Lubec, April 1, Mary J. Good, aged 31 years. At Red Beach, Calais, April 4, Benjamin Shattuck, Esq. aged 84 years.
