The artical is very long so I will not post it here. LOCAL ANS MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS Michael Schwartz, an old and respected citizen of Bangor died Feb 7, aged 64. Mr Frank L. Allen recently closed a term of school in Birch Point district, Gouldsboro. Rev. Thomas Adamd, D.D., of Winslow, died Feb 5, aged 90 years. The deceased has been a prominent clergymen of the Congregational church over half a century. Mr Ned C. Stone, of Machias is on the road Selling Agent for the firm of Messrs. Wright Bros. & James, of Boston. The artical in this paper from the N.Y. Mercantile Review clearly sets forth the ability of the Firm, while we are assured that they have an active, energetic satesman in Mr Stone. Ned ranks among Machias' smartest boys. They tell us matches are made in heaven, but somehow they never smell that way when you strike 'em. Mrs James Roberts, of Hanover, Me. was buried Wednesday. Mrs. Roberts died after only a day or two of illness. Mt Roberts attended the funeral, and returned to his house, and died within a few moments after reaching it. Even if a boy is always whistling "I want to be an angel" it is just as well to keep the preserved pears on the top shelf. There is nothing marvellous about curing by laying on hands. Hands laid on smartly and vigorously have cured many small boys of badness. Collins Tabor, of Houlton, blacksmith, is in Colorado. Last summer he worked in the gold mines, and the day before Christmas he was paid off and started down the mountain. On his way he was met by highwaymen and robbed of his money, $282. He says as soon as he earns enough to bring him home, he shall start his boots for Houlton. FROM WESLEY Mr. Wm. Guptill, who fell from the high beam of D.W. Rollins' barn and hurt himself badly is slowly recovering. Joseph Hatt, at work in the woods for D.W. Rollins had a tree fall on him a few days ago. He was conveyed home in an insensible condition.
