Smalledge, at Winter Harbor was lost overboard from Sch. Flora King, off West Quoddy Head, Oct 8. He was first mate and a worthy young man. Mr. A.D Pettingill has removed his family from Machias to Bar Harbor. Mr. B.L. Farrall, the tailor, is reported very sick at his home in Machias. One day recently the Frontier National Bank, at Eastport, paid out $10,000 in gold on account of the Sardine Factories. Mr. Luther Tibbetts at Indian River died suddenly Oct 18. He had bruised his thumb a short time previous with a hammer which occasioned lockjaw resulting in death. Benj. Lincoln, Esq., of Dennysville, a descendent of Major General Lincoln of the Contiuental Army, received a telegram last week from Gov. Long, of Massachusetts, inviting him to be present at the Yorktown celebration. Major General Benj. Lincoln was born at Hingham, Mass, on the 3rd of February, 1733. He was at the surrender of Cornwallis and deputed to receive that commanders sword. He was elected secretary of War a few days after this event, which office he held for three years. He died in Hingham on the 9th of May, 1810, at the age of 77 years. [Sentinel. Calais Advertiser. Mrs. Joseph Granger is disposing of her household furniture at auction preparatory to breaking up housekeeping .... We understand Gen. Whidden has left Calais and gone to Nova Scotia to reside, and Mr. Edgar Whidden is making arrangements to go there too, shortly.... Mrs. Helen Kelley, wife of Samuel Kelly Jr., who was prostrated by sun stroke while on a picnic to Lewy's Island in August, last, has been confined to her house ever since, under the doctor's hands.
