Sortor Articles of Incorporation of the First Baptist Church of Curtis This is a copy of the original Curtis Dec. 9, 1893 Articles of Incorporation of the First Baptist Church of Curtis Alcona Co located in the Township of Curtis County of Alcona and State of Michigan. On the 11th day of March 1890, the Trustees went by resolution approved at a regular meeting of the Church, directed to prepare articles of Corporation and to submit them to the Church for adoption on the 10th day of June 1890. On the 10th day of June 1890 in pursuance of the above resolution the Trustees submitted articles of corporation, which were adopted as follows: The name of this Corporation shall be the First Baptist Church of Curtis located in the Township of Curtis, County of Alcona and State of Michigan. The officers shall consist of a board of Trustees....three in number, there shall be male citizens of the United States twenty one years of age or over and and [sic] shall be elected by ballot for a term of three years at the annual meeting of the Church, except that at the first meeting, one third of the members shall be elected for one year, one third for two years and one third for three years and thereafter one third of the the number shall be elected each year for the full term of three years the trustees shall be members of the Church in good standing, the annual meeting of the Church shall be on the Saturday before the first Monday in September and seven members shall constitute a quoram for the transaction of business..
