Baldwin Died: Thursday, April 17, 1958, at 2:24 a.m. at the Alpena General Hospital. He entered the hospital on April 1, following a heart attack. Funeral services: Two o’clock Sunday afternoon (20 Apr 1958), Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Officiated: Rev. Clare Gleason, Killmaster Burial: Twin Lakes cemetery, Lincoln Residence: Barton City (Alcona Co., MI) Born: October 13, 1886, Mitchell Township, Alcona County Residence: Alcona County, his entire life. Son of the late Edward and Annie Gurnsey Baldwin (see comments below). Married: Nina Elizabeth Mohl at Cadillac, Michigan, November 7, 1908. Occupations: “Millen Township school treasurer, 21 years and Highway Commissioner for a number of years. He followed the lumber woods and also engaged in farming during his lifetime. His widow and ten children survive, seven daughters and three sons, Mrs. Lloyd Berry (Gladys) of Sterling; Mrs. Ada Dellar of Harrisville; Mrs. Walter Lincoln, (Edna) of Harrisville, Mrs. Lester VanDallen, (Vera) of Belmont, Michigan, Mrs. Roy MacPherson (Bernice) of Este, Michigan; Mrs. Harold Pettit, (Opal), Killmaster; Mrs. Gordon Steeter, (Edith) Barton City, Orville Baldwin, Glennie; Merle, of Barton City; and Marvin of Curran. Also surviving are 33 grandchildren and four great grandchildren, two brothers and one sister, Burt of Newberry, Vern of Grand Rapids, and Mrs. Elvie Cartwright of Belding.” Pallbearer: Ernest Basselman, Ben Champagne, Emery McGregor, George Kohler, Wilbur Lane and Wm. Cordes. Additional Comments: Clarence’s parents were Edwin Morris BALDWIN and Anna Emily WILBUR, who were my 2nd great-grandparents. GUERNSEY, spelled various ways, was the maiden name of Anna’s mother.
