(Many of the people buried at Curtisville are realted to the Curtis and/or Bell families.) Her father, Ebinezer Curtis donated the land to the township of Curtisville, which was named after him. He was the first white man in upper Michigan and settled the town of Curtisvlle. He also donated land and lumber for the first church (which is still in use today).
