He died at the County Poor Farm and was buried in the Maple Grove Cemetery. No permanent marker existed. I had this stone placed there in 2005, and visited the cemetery when I took this picture in October 2005. He migrated to Marquette, MI, in about 1850 with his grandfather Basil Bishop and father Dellivan Delance Bishop and their families. He married Florence Jane Brotherton on 18 May 1864, and they lived in Marquette for a few years. They later moved to Escanaba, Delta Co., MI. Florence died there on 15 November 1895. Sometime between 1900-1910 he moved to Tooele Co., UT, leaving there about 1920 to Alger Co., MI, where it is believed he lived with his son William Marion Bishop until his son's death 7 Jan 1922, when he then probably moved to the Poor Farm.
