Herrick District Library, Obituaries (1940 - 2003) Holland, Michigan
Mrs. Jay (Esther) Broekhuis, 68, of Graafschap, died Sunday, April 11, 1999, 
at Spectrum Health, Downtown Campus, Grand Rapids, Kent, Michigan.
She was a life-long member of Graafschap Christian Reformed Church where she 
was a member of the School Circle and Dorcas Society. She had volunteered at 
Holland Communtiy Hospital for 13 years.
Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Jay; children, Lois and Brent Van 
Faasen of Holland and Carl and Bernadette Broekhuis of Melbourne Beach, FL; 
two granddaughters; sisters, Julia and Bill Mokma, Hazel Slagh, and Betty Long 
all of Holland; sisters and brothers in-law, Harriet Sternberg and Doris 
Broekhuis of Zeeland, June and Roger Zoet, Hazel and Roger Timmer, and Elaine 
and Don De Weerdt all of Overisel, and Ted Broekhuis of San Jose, CA.
Services are Wednesday at Graafschap Christian Reformed Church, with the Rev. 
James Lont officiating. Burial will be in Graafschap Cemetery.
