Died" "Very unexpectedly at his home Tuesday at 11 a.m." (28 Sep 1954)
Occupation" Long time Otsego merchant of Shears Confectionery and Ice Cream 
Store and Plant, and former Village Councilman
Born: Pine Grove Township 
Residence: Otsego all his life
Membership: Otsego Masonic Lodge.  
Survivors: "Wife; a daughter; one brother; four grandchildren and two great grand-
children."    
Funeral Home: Slentz Funeral Chapel
Funeral Services: 2 p.m. Saturday (2 Oct 1954),Congregational Church
Officiating: Rev. Seth Clay
Burial: Mt. Home Cemetery

Additional Comments:
Arthur's first wife was Neva Gertrude CHURCH. Neva died 16 Oct 1946 in 
Otsego.  Arthur and Neva's son, Howard Franklin SHEARS, preceeded Arthur in 
death in July 1949.  Arthur was the son of Mindard SHEARS (the first name has 
various spellings and Marinda Elizabeth HAMMOND (also spelled HAMMON).  His 
siblings were Oscar, Sherman, Bert, Barney, Lyda (married Robert Herman 
LUDTKE) and Jay.
