"Fred Shears of Otsego was severely injured while working at Hooper last 
Tuesday.  Some logs rolled off the trucks and crushed one of his legs in the 
fall.  The flesh from knee to ankle was torn open and both bones broken and 
protruding from the flesh.  He was removed to the home of his cousin Bert 
Shears of Otsego, where later the limb as amputated.  He died Monday from his 
injuries."

Additional Comments:
He actually died on Friday (not Monday).
