Ruth Robins Monteith, a member of the D.A.R., was responsible for 
transcriptions of many of the cemeteries in Allegan County.  She was 
transcribing in the 1950's and early 1960's.  Without her work many 
genealogical researchers would have more difficulty finding ancestors in 
Allegan County.  Her husband's family, the Monteiths, were prosperous farmers 
and businessmen for many years in Martin Township. He was a veteran and a 
gentleman, and she was a lady and an active DAR member.
