This tombstone in Hopkins, Michigan Maplewood Cemetery is of Homer Mankin, who 
died during the Civil War at Vicksburg, Mississippi on July 12, 1864.  He is 
buried in the Vicksburg National Military Park Cemetery in Mississippi under a 
stone that has his named spelled incorrectly as "Homer Mankus" in section L, 
no. 6128.  His stone in Hopkins is next to his parents, Silas W. Mankin and 
Rachel Warrenton Mankin.
