In July of 1997 I found his broken headstone next to his sister Sibble Rose
Dixon (Don Rose's gg gm) under a trumpet vine.  I cut down the bush + repaired
his stone with the help of a neighbor.  A GAR marker had been placed next to his
stone.  Inscribed below the surface on his stone was "His ways was ways of
plesantness (sic) and all his paths peace."  The graves were in the front SE
corner, row 3 near the road.  The McDowell Cemetery is located @
Latitude: 42.47094
Longitude:86.23694
5-6 miles north of South Haven, MI------------> west of I-196 & east of Blue
Star Highway 2 near the intersection of 107th Ave & 71st ST

Additional Comments:
Age at death was 31-11-23.  It is yet unknown if he ever married, or if he died
as a result of injuries or illness in the Civil War.

He came to Casco, Allegan, Michigan from New York in 1855 with his mother and
brothers.  They all farmed in Section 30.
