He got so stiff and lame, one of his toe nails got torn out by a pig two years ago, at last came to an awful sore so he would not step on it and so we thought it best to have him put out of his misery, but Oh, you don't know how I miss him, it seems as though an old friend has gone." Note: The Dog Turk lived 6 years after the death of Wm Bellingham. Gladys Bliss Doster (gr grndau/o Wm A. Bellingham, Sr.)--noted that "Turk, guards the graves at Woodside Cem and had saved the family from a house fire."
