Lince, aged 72 years, well known resident of Flynn Valley, died Thursday morning at 9:20 o'clock at his home in Flynn Valley following an extended illness. Mr. Lince had been in failing health for several months but his condition became critical Wednesday, death following the next day. Mr. Lince was born October 1, 1860 at St. Marys, Ontario, where he lived until 14 years of age when he came with his parents to Argyle, Michigan. In 1902 he came to Alpena and located for a time in Sanborn Township, moving a few years later to Flynn Valley, where he had lived continuously the past 23 years. Mr. Lince was prominent and active in the Flynn Valley community and highly respected by his many friends and acquaintances. He was a man of high principals and an understanding nature and ready to lend a helping hand when needed. Surviving Mr. Lince are his widow, Mrs. Lucy Lince; six daughters, Mrs. Laura Holman, Caro; Mrs. Fred E Lawrence, Alpena; Mrs Edward Schook, Curran, Mrs. Reinheld Lance, Ossineke, and the Misses Jeannette and Betty Lou Lince at home; six sons, James J Lince, Herron, Gilbert B. Lince, Curran, Martin L. Lince, Manila Phillipine Islands, and Alex, Phillip and Marcus Lince, at home; one sister Mrs. Archie Flynn of McGinn and 20 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home in Flynn Valley with the Rev. Mr. Hull of Lincoln officiating. Interment will be in the Flynn Valley cemetery, serving as pallbearers for Mr. Lince will be his three sons, Alex Lince, Philip Lince and Marcus Lince and three Grandsons, Roy Schook and Wayne Schook of Curran and Fred Lawrence, Jr. of Alpena.
