Reginald Hitchcock officiated at the funeral of Lawrence A McDonald today at Chagnon Funeral Home. He died Friday (Oct 31) at Russell memorial Hospital. Born in Manton, August 12, 1918, he moved to the Onaway area in 1959. He and Alma Beatty were married in Pontiac on Dec. 17. 1945. Mr. McDonald engaged in farming and was employed with Mackinac Railway Co. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Onaway. Surviving are his wife; eight daughters, Kitty Hitchcock, Nancy Post and Cindy Nash, all of Onaway, Shelly McDonald, Betty Lou Post and Vivian Sobeck, all of Millersburg, Darlene Fleming of Virginia and Lorene Kerr of Charlevoix. Five sons, Peter and Russell, both of Onaway, Melvin and Tom, both of Millersburg, and Lawrence of Lapeer; 27 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren; five brothers, Lavoy of Ocqueoc; Adrian of Arizona, Stanley of Rogers City, Archie of Alpena and Orville of Clarkston; and four sisters, Norma Briggium of Alpena, Ellen Kimball of Millersburg, and Laura Zinky and Emma Schleben, both of Rogers City.
