Mrs. John Nelson

LEER - Funeral service for Mrs. Marie M. Nelson, was today at 2:30 at the Leer
Lutheran church, the Rev. Mikkel Lono officiating, with burial in the church
cemetery.

Mrs. Nelson died at Alpena hospital Saturday morning after being ill for three
weeks.  She was born Nov. 28, 1867 in Oslo, Norway and came to Alpena at the age
of 18.  She was married to John Nelson on August 22, 1891 at Grace Lutheran
church in Alpena, the Rev. J. A. Wang officiating.  They lived in Alpena about
two years before moving to Leer where she has since made her home.  Mr. Nelson
died on May 11, 1951.

She was a member of Leer Lutheran church.

Survivng are two daughter, Mrs. Jean Reitzel of Detroit and Mrs. Alfred Hansen
(Clara) of Leer; a son, Olaf at home; 15 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

The body was taken from Wachterhauser funeral home at 1 p.m. Sunday to the
family home where a prayer service was held at 2 today.
