Beatrice June Molzahn was born to Fred and Sanna (Benjamensen) Molzahn on October 25, 1918, in Rochester, Minnesota. After she graduated from high school she married Owen Thomas Blunt in Hopkins, Minnesota, which began a 70 year love affair. They formed a strong-minded team that steadily moved their lives upward. Bea combined child-raising skills with unfailing social skills, to support Owen as he worked as a Ford Plant Manger. After Owen retired from Ford they moved from Bloomfield Hills to their house on Torch Lake where Bea used her organizing skills and Owen his wood-crafting magic to remodel their 75 year old house, and physically and aesthetically expand the Church in the Hills. They also were co-founders of the Three Lakes Association, played golf, and doted on grandchildren and great grandchildren. She and Owen loved to travel through North America, Asia, and the British Isles, spending the winters in Venice, FL and taking special trips to Wales and Norway to search out their roots. In 2006, they moved to Brighton. Bea was preceded in death by her husband, Owen and son, Thomas Owen. She is survived by one sister, Patricia Molzahn Bacca Bayless of Colorado; two daughters, Bette (Robert) Holden of Bath, and Kathleen Roberts of Howell and daughter-in-law, Trina Blunt. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Amanda (Monte) Lucas and Dianna (Paul) Timperman of Lousiville, KY; Sherri (Tim) Hines of Mason; Debbie (Mike) Petersmark of East Lansing; Anne (Trent) Schneeberger of Chandler, AZ; Laura (Greg Cassidy) Holden of Germany; Andy (Melissa) Roberts of Waterford; Eric (Casey) Roberts of Colorado. She also leaves behind 5 step-grandchildre: Ross Olges, Jeffrey Roberts, David Roberts, Gregory Roberts, and Lynne Roberts, and many great grandchildren. Beatrice Blunt was a woman of great will-power and fortitude and will be greatly missed by all. A Celebration of her Life will be conducted on Tuesday, August 30 at Walnut Hills Country Club, East Lansing at 5:00 pm with dinner to follow.
