This is a photo of Luther Pliny Daniel's headstone.  It sits next to another 
headstone which bears the name of both he and his wife, Savilla.  Luther was 
born July 9, 1825 in Putnam, Connecticut and past away October 11, 1915 in 
Clayton Township, Michigan.  He is the son of Selah Daniels Sr. and Mary Ann 
Newman of Ohio.  According to US Census records, Luther moved to Michigan 
sometime between 1860 and 1870. He married Savilla R. Fales and raised seven 
children in the area.  Many family members born of this Daniels family still 
live in the Sterling area.
