This is a photo of Luther Pliny and Savilla R. Fales headstone.  It sits next 
to a military headstone which bears the name CO. 1. 2 Ohio HA. Luther was born 
July 9, 1825 in Putnam, Connecticut and past away October 11, 1915 in Clayton 
Township, Michigan.  Savilla was born May 15, 1830 in New York and past away 
February 25, 1917 in Clayton Township, Michigan.  They were married on May 15, 
1851.  He is the son of Selah Daniels Sr. and Mary Ann Newman of Ohio.  
According to US Census records, Luther moved to Michigan sometime between 1860 
and 1870. He married Savilla R. Fales and raised seven children in the area.  
Many family members born of this Daniels family still live in the Sterling 
area.
