Obituary. 

After an illness lasting over a year Mrs. Charlotte Bendry, wife of Capt. 
James Bendry, died at her home in Baraga Saturday evening, May 28, 1892, 
surrounded by her grief stricken family. 

The malady of which she died was superinduced by an attack of the grip 
something over a year ago, and in spite of the best medical skill and 
attention she steadily declined through the painful hours, weeks and months 
until the final summons came. 

Mrs. Bendry was born at Sault Ste. Marie, July 4, 1829. She was married to 
Capt. Bendry at that place and moved to Baraga in 1849, where they have since 
lived. 

The funeral services were held at the Catholic Mission Monday morning, 
conducted by Father Terhorst, and the remains followed to their last repose in 
the Mission cemetery by a large concourse of sympathizing friends and 
neighbors.
