She was a pioneer resident of L'Anse, coming here in the early 1870's and remaining here since. Mrs. Boivin was born in Montreal on Feb. 28, 1857, and when a young lady came to this county and located in Duluth of three years. She then came to L'Anse, and when 21 years of age, married Anslem Biovin. To them were born 3 sons and 2 daughters, Samuel of San Francisco, Thomas amd Louis of L'Anse; Mrs. R.S. Reed of Crystal Falls and Mrs. J.K. Norton of Detroit. Besides her children, a sister, Mrs Seavoy, and two half sisters, Mrs. Nellie Derocher of L'Anse and Mrs. William Deschaine of Ford City, Ontario and five half brothers, Octave and Edward of L'Anse, Meador and Albert of Los Angeles, and Eldage Sicotte of Minneapolis, survive her. The funeral was held at Sacred Heart church and the remains will be laid beside her husband in the family lot in L'Anse cemetery.
