Alfred Legonier, a French Canadian, attempted to jump off the train at Spurr Mountain, last Monday, while it was under full speed, and received injuries from which he died the next day. Legonier had been working at Ewen for several weeks and was just returning home on account of the serious illness of his wife. He was about 26 years old and leaves a widow and four children in destitute circumstances.
