L'Anse Sentinel June 27, 1891
Mrs. John McGrath, mother of Miss McGrath, the teacher of the Bay Shore school, died

at her home in Spurr township last Wednesday. Her ailment was cancer of the side 
from which she had been affected for a long time. The remains were taken to Hancock

for internment beside those of her husband who died about eight years ago. Two 
daughters and a son survive her. They have the sympathy of their many friends in 
their bereavement.
