Murphy took place last Monday from St. Joseph's church, Father Henn officiating. The S.K's and A.O.U.W., of which societies Mr. Murphy was a member in good standing, turned out in a body and followed the remains to their last resting place in the village cemetery. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community, in which they had lived so long, in this their deep affliction. [Further down the page]: Resolutions of Condolence. Whereas, it has pleased Almighty God the supreme master of the universe to remove from our midst Bro. Thomas J. Murphy. Resolved that we have lost a worthy brother, faithful in all things and his presence will be missed in our lodge room. Resolved, that we extend our heart felt sympathies to the bereaved wife and family in their hour of sorrow. Resolved, that in due respect to our late brother our charter be drapped in mourning for a period of thirty days, that a copy of these resolutions be forwarded to his bereaved wife and the same be spread upon the records of this lodge and also published in the L'ANSE SENTINEL and the Michigan Herald, the official organ of the A.O.U.W. of Michigan.
