L'Anse Sentinel, April 28, 1900
Tuesday morning at 6 o'clock Theophile Ross passed away at his late home in 
this village after a brief illness, aged 73 years. Deceased as born in Canada, 
August 24, 1826 and had resided in Baraga for the past seventeen years. 
Besides a bereaved widow, five children are left to mourn his departure. The 
funeral was held from the Catholic church Thursday morning, the service being 
conducted by Rev. Fr. Terhorst.
