Death of Mrs. John F. Royce

News was received here early this week that Mrs. John F. Royce, mother of Register 
Royce, of the U.S. land office, had died at her home in Sturgis, MI, last 
Saturday. 

Further information is to the effect that both Mr. and Mrs. Royce had been 
suffering from a severe attack of la grippe, from the ravages of which Mrs. Royce 
died. The old gentleman is now so low that it is feared the shock of his wife's 
death will result fatally. 

Mrs. Royce was seventy-seven years of age at the time of her death. She resided at 
Baraga several years and was highly esteemed by the numerous friends of the family 
in this county.
