Ersula was born in Verona, now Battle Creek, Aug. 30th, 1853, being therefore 34 years old. She was an active member of the M.E. church, having been converted during a series of meetings held in that neighborhood in the winter of 1884 conducted by Rev. A.K. Stuart. She suffered a great deal during her final illness until the last hour which was very peaceful. When different ones talked to her of dying she oly replied that the Lord was with her every moment. The funeral servies were held at the Holmes church in Carlton, conducted by Rev. W.D. Rowland, the procession to the cemetery being nearly one mile in length. dz
