CURTIS Earl H. Curtis, 79, a retired farmer and a lifelong resident of this area, died unexpectedly at his home on Johnson street, Christmas night about 8:30 o'clock. He was born May 27, 1873, in Woodland township, the son of Henry and Annie Meyers (sic) Curtis. Mr. Curtis resided in the Tamarac area, southwest of the town for thirty-two years before moving to their present home in the village six years ago. Surviving are the wife, the former Nettie Priest, two brothers, Robert and Ira Curtis, and a sister, Mrs. Alice Lepard, all of Lake Odessa. He was a member of the Calvary United Brethren church. Mr. Curtis reposed at the Pickens funeral chapel until Monday, then taken to the Calvary U. B. church where the funeral services were held at two o'clock, with burial in Lakeside cemetery. Rev. M. H. Dawson officiated, assisted by Rev. Ronald Hoffman of Charlotte, who also sang during the service.
