She was united in marriage to James H. Durkee of Carlton Township, February 6, 1875, and they settled on their farm, two and one-half miles from Woodland, on which they resided until the fall of 1914, when they sold the farm and bought a home in the village. They resided here but a few months when her husband died, but she continued to live here until a year ago. For the past year she has lived with her daughters. There were born to this union five children, one son and four daughters, two of whom died in infancy. The remaining children are Mrs. Henry Schaibly, Mrs. Jesse Demond and Mrs. Harry Decker. At the age of twenty-three years she was converted and united with the Holmes church and later the Tamarac church. When the U. B. church was organized and built in Woodland, she transferred her member ship there, where she remained a faithful member until the end. She leaves to mourn their loss her children and grand-children, two brothers and one sister, besides a host of friends. dz
