The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Obituary 1915 John McNee passed away Sunday, July 25th at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Eugene Haight, southwest of this village, Mr. McNee was born in Glasgow, Scotland, June 10, 1839, making him 76 years, one month and 15 days old. When three months old he sailed with his parents to this country, landing in New York State where he spent his boyhood years, then came to Michigan, where he lived for the past 60 years. In 1877 he was united in marriage to Miss Alice Cain of Carlton, who passed away eleven years ago. To this union four children were born, of whom three survive, Mrs. Eugene Haight, Mr. Warren McNee, of Middleville, Mr. Walter McNee, of Freeport, and one brother, William McNee, northeast of town, and five grandchildren, who will miss the love and affection of a father and grandfather. The funeral was held from the M.E. church at Parmalee Tuesday, July 27th, at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Westbrook of Middleville officiating. Interment in Parmalee cemetery, by the side of the loved companion who passed to the beyond Aug. 4, 1904.
