McNee was born Sept. 2, 1842, at Medina, N.Y., and died October 6, 1909, at the St. Alphonsus hospital, Boise City, Idaho, aged 76 years, 1 month, and 4 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Annette Mathews July 8, 1867, Rev. Ira B. Jones officiating. To them were born four sons, who with their faithful mother, are left to mourn their loss, vis: Albert C. of Grand Rapids, Pearl of Irving, Henry of Myssa, Oregon, and Elmer of Rexburg, Idaho. The to later, with their mother, were with him when he passed away. In his early manhood Robert answered President Lincoln's call for volunteers and he enlisted in Co. M, 6th Michigan calvary, and served his country until the close of the war. Besides Robert's own immediate family, two brothers, John and William, of Irving with a host of other relatives and friends are left to mourn for the soldier boy, who died so far from his native state and buried in a soldier cemetery at Boise City, Idaho. During his last sickness, Robert turned again to that Savior, whom he set out to serve early in life and received the blessed assurance that all is well. By One Who Knew Him.
