Smith Celestia Emeline Wolfe, daughter of Elizabeth and Bostion Wolfe, was born in Dundee, Ohio, April 10, 1848 and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H.A. Woodman on Feb. 29, aged 79 yrs. 10 months and 20 days. She was united in marriage to William Smith March 22, 1866 and came to Michigan in 1872. She is survived by her husband, five sons and two daughters, James B., G. Edward, W. Frederick, Bessie L, Bernard L., Ernest G. and Mary E. also two brothers and two sisters, 24 grandchildren and 8 great grand children. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Luella in infancy and Mrs. Eva McDonald at the age of 32 years. Had she lived until March 22 they would have celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. She had been a member of the church of Christ since she was sixteen years of age and with her husband and parents was a charter member of this church of which she was a faithful member until her death. Her life was one of abiding faith and she never questioned God's Guiding Hand during her long illness. Funeral services were held Sunday March 4th at the Coats Grove church. The sermon by F. C. Wing, assisted by Rev. Hall an Thompson. Burial taking place at Fuller cemetery.
