	Ezra Tobias was born near Bath in New York on January 20th, 
1801. Died October 22d, 1899, ages 98 yrs, 9 mo, 2 days.
	He was married at the age of 32 years to Miss Millie Davis, 
after which they moved to Ashtebula [sic] county, Ohio.  Nine children 
were born to them, five of them now living, his wife dying on February 
5th, 1846.
	On April 17th, 1848, he was married to Miss Lena [sic] Edson 
of Ashtebula Co., Ohio, where they lived until May 1st, 1853.  They 
then moved to Baltimore when it was nothing but a wilderness at that 
time, purchasing 90 acres of land where he has lived until his death, 
his son, J. E., caring for them.  Six children were born to him by his 
second wife, of whom five are living to mourn with her, she being 72 
years old but has been a true and devoted wife, always with her husband, 
ready to care for him as on one else could, he having been blind 18 
years.  The deceased has had by his first wife 9 children; number of 
grand children 52, number of great grand children 38, number of great,
great grand children 2, making a total of 107 descendants.  He died of 
congestion of the brain.  The funeral sermon was conducted by Rev. 
Leamon of Banfield on Tuesday the 24th, at the church and remains laid 
to rest in the Baltimore cemetery near the church.
