Body of lost boy takne from river, clew given by chum ends search. Bay City, Feb. 22-The body of Lawrence Palmer Jr., seven year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Palmer, of Detroit, was recovered late Wednesday after eight hours of dragging operations on the ice-covered Saginaw River. The boy, as student at the Whittier school here, had been missing since late Monday from the home of is grandmother, Mrs. William Hurst, of Hotchkiss St., where he and his mother lived. After 24 hours of investgation conducted by State Police and Bay County officers, Donald Parker, six-year old chum of Lawrence, informed the officers that he had seen the boy going down towards the river near the Cass Ave. bridge. Sheriff William Schindhette, Chief Deputy Charles Kinderman and Sergt. Okla Knox, of the State Police, were in charge of the crew that found the body.
