The Bay City Times Tribune, Wednesday, March 5, 1919 
Jacob Atkinson, 63 years old, died very unexpectedly at the West Side Hospital 
Tuesday morning. Mr Atkinson had his right leg amputated at the hospital about 
a week ago as gangrene had set in. He is survived by two sisters and a 
brother. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home 
of John Korman in Amelith. Interment at Monitor Cemetery.

Additional Comments:
Jacob Atkinson was an immigrant from Sweden and was born in Trelleborg, Sweden 
on 25 January, 1856. He had for many years a saloon in Essexville, Bay City, 
MI.
He was my maternal grandmother's brother.
