Bauer, Lorenz A. “Barney”
Auburn, Michigan 
	Mr. Bauer died peacefully Tuesday evening November 13, 2001 at his 
home with his family by his side after a lingering illness, age 87 years. 
Barney was born the son of the late Christian and Marie (Kasemeyer) Bauer June 
17, 1914 in KawKawlin Township and resided in this area all his life. He was a 
lifelong farmer, worked and retired from Dow chemical company, Midland after 
32 years of service. He along with his wife Leona was a founding and current 
member of Grace Lutheran Church Auburn and loved and enjoyed his 
grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. On March 14, 
1936 he married Leona M. Wegener [at Trinity Monitor Lutheran Church] she 
predeceased him on January 9, 1993. 
	He is survived by four children, Larry Bauer, Auburn, Loris (Les) 
Goedecke, Tawas City, Tim Bauer, Sally (Paul) Netkowski all of Auburn; 17 
grandchildren 17 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; 2 
brothers Roland (Florence) Bauer, Erich Bauer all of Bay City; 1 sister Wilma 
(Herman) Arnold Bay City, and 1 daughter-in-law Marie Bauer, Saginaw; many 
nieces and nephews and a special family friend Sally Thompson, Auburn. He was 
predeceased by a son Leroy and 2 great-grandsons Russell Ian, 2 brothers 
Harold Ervin, 2 sisters-in-law Dorothy and Ollie.
