Bay City Times October 1957
Kowalski- Mrs. Sophia Kowalski, 97, died at her home, 2410 Garfield avenue, 
Sunday afternoon [February 27, 1941] following a weeks illness. She was born 
in Pozen, Poland [daughter of Ignace Harenza] on April 10, 1844 and has made 
her home in Bay City for the last 60 years.[she was married to Thomas 
Wisniewski who predeceased her June 1 , 1933] She is survived by three 
daughters; Mrs. Mary Torka, Mrs. Sophia Grzegorczyk and Mrs. Catherine Torka, 
all of Bay City; Three sons’ Frank and Anthony of Bay City and Peter of 
Beaver; 98 grandchildren. She is a member of St. Valentines Church in Beaver 
and the Holy Rosary Sodality.
