Douglas, age 83 years, was carried home by the angels on Tuesday, October 12, 1999. She was born in Engadine, Michigan on November 2, 1915. Mrs. Douglas has lived in Essexville for four years. The former Ellamae Butterfield was married to Bruce Douglas, Sr. He preceded her in death. Surviving are eight children, Barbara (Glen) Thompson of Essexville,Michael (Judy) Douglas Thomas Douglas, all of Harrison Bruce (Maryann) Douglas, Jr of Bay City, Carl (Renee) Douglas of Omer, Larry (Connie) Douglas of Everett, Pat (Helen) Douglas of Burt; two daughters- in-law, Mrs. Dennis (Carolyn) Douglas of Bay City, Mrs. John (Lorraine) Douglas of Susanville, California; forty-four grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; four brothers, Hank, (Pita) Butterfield, Harold (Eleanor) Butterfield, Albert (Irene) Butterfield, and Richard Butterfield; a sister Patricia Bowden; a step-sister Patricia Bowden; a step-sister, Adeline Wejsa; a step-brother, Frank Morzinski and a special friend, Cherri Cunningham. Mrs. Douglas was preceded in death by three sons, John ,Dennis, and Roger; a sister, Virginia LaPage; a brother Carl Butterfield; two stepbrothers, Eugene and Don Briggs and a stepsister, Leota Janiske. The funeral services were Friday afternoon at l o'clock from Stapish East (Essexville). Rev. Fr. Thomas J. McNamara presided. Interment was in St. Patrick Cemetery.
