Mrs. Ellis has been suffering for several months with a tumor on her face, which has been troubling the old lady the past year. Her suffering has been almost unendurable at times, and on numerous occasions she has begged her folks to kill her that her suffering, which she knew would result in her death in the course of time, might be at an end at once. Th past two weeks she has been entirely helpless and death came to the old lady as a sweet relief from her prolonged suffering. Mrs. Ellis has resided in Bay City 34 years and has lived at the present old homestead for 25 years. She was 79 years old and leaves a daughter and son. The latter has been a county charge for some time at the poor farm on account of being blind and crazy at times. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis removed from near Cleveland to this city 34 years ago and were old pioneer residents of this city. She was born in Troy, N.Y. Her husband, Mr. Ellis, died four years ago at the ripe old age of 86. The funeral of Mrs. Ellis takes place this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Fremont avenue Baptist church. The remains will be laid to rest in the family burial lot in Pine Ridge cemetery.
