David Walter Karbowski March 28, 1921 - January 30, 2003 Karbowski, David W. Linwood, Michigan Mr. Karbowski, age 81 years, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2003 at Mid-Michigan Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born in Beaver Township on March 28, 1921 to the late Anthony and Lena (Nowak) Karbowski. He married the former Inez Morse on July 31, 1943, she survives him. Dave owned and operated the Karbowski Implement Company where his family had held the John Deere franchise for over 50 years. He was a dealer dedicated to his farmer friends. He was a life long resident of Crump, and 50 plus year member of St. Anne Church where he served as an usher. He served in the U.S. Army, member of Pinconning Area School Board, member and past president of Michigan Farm Equipment Dealer's Association, member of National Farm Equipment Dealer's Association, served as Garfield Township Supervisor, past Bay County Commissioner, and past member and chairman of Bay County Board of Public Works. In addition to his wife of 59 years he is survived by his daughter, Gail Ann & Carlo Lamberti of Bay City; 2 grandchildren, Carlo David Lamberti of New York City and Gina & Matt Ruhlig of Saginaw; 3 brothers: Ben & Betty Karbowski of Linwood, Jack & Pat Karbowski, and James & MaryLal both of Rochester; 2 sisters- in- law, Ina Wilson, Alice Morse and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Frank. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, February 3, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Anne Church, Rev. Fr. Thomas Kowalczyk presiding with burial in St. Anne Cemetery. Friends may call at Rivertown Funeral Chapel on Saturday from 4-8 p.m. and Sunday from 1-8 p.m. A Vigil Prayer Service will be held Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. Sister Jean T. Baumann O.S.F. presiding. On Monday Mr. Karbowski will lie in state at the church from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
