XIII Second Edition Lansing, Michigan Winkoop Hallenbeck Crawrod C., State Printers 1908 Memorial Report: Page 117 BAY COUNTY Ira McKinney, one of the pioneers of Saginaw valley, died on his farm, now within the limits of Bay City, April 11, 1888, in the 85th year of his age. Mr. McKinney was born in Orange county, State of New York, January 24, 1804. He came to Detroit in 1835, where he was engaged in the saw mill business. In 1846 removed to Portsmouth, now part of Bay City, where he was engaged in the same business for years, when, getting old, he retired to his farm, where he lived until his death. He leaves four daughters and one son to mourn his loss.
