Wegener was found dead in the garage of his home in Auburn Saturday [August 23 1958] Coroner Karl Penzien determined that death was caused by suffocation from Hanging. Mr. Wegener had been in ill health. The body was found by a son-in-law, Walter Bleck. Mr. Wegener’s wife Clara had died March 2, 1957. A retired farmer he was born November 25, 1887 [the son of Andrew Louis Wegener] in Monitor Township and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Monitor. He leaves two sons. Lawrence and Leland of Auburn; six daughters Mrs. Bleck, Mrs. Lorenz Bauer, Mrs. Harvey Kuch of Auburn; Mrs. Edgar Schlicker of East Tawas, Mrs. Adolph Martin of Saginaw and Mrs. Ervin Rauschert of Bay City; 36 grandchildren a great-granddaughter, four brothers Emil and Rudolph of Monitor Township, Michael of Bay City and George of KawKawlin.
