Passed away Saturday evening January 9, 1993 at her home after a brief illness 
age 77 years Leona M. Wegener was born May 5, 1915 in Gibson Township, Bay 
County and had been a lifelong resident of this area. She was a member of 
Grace Lutheran Church of Auburn and the Ladies of Grace. On March 14, 1936 she 
married Lorenz S. Bauer who survives her, also surviving are three sons Leroy 
Bauer and his wife Marie of Saginaw Larry Bauer of Auburn, Tim Bauer of Grand 
Rapids, two daughters and their husbands Loris (Les) Goedecke of East Tawas 
and Sally and Paul Netkowski of Auburn; seventeen grandchildren; seven great-
grandchildren; one brother, three sisters as well as many nieces and nephews. 
She was predeceased by her parents William Wegener and Clara (Behmlander) 
Wegener; two brothers and five sisters.
