Mr. and Mrs. Dearth had been spending the winter with Mrs. E. C. Waters, their only child. Funeral, Tuesday afternoon. Interment at Inland cemetery. Henry Dearth was born in Looningburg, VT., April 27, 1834. In 1869 he was married to Miss Esther Gokay, after which he brought his bride to Battle Creek. From there they moved to Nashville [MI.], where they lived for twelve years. In 1881 they came to Inland, Benzie county, where they have made their home ever since, until their visit to their daughter and family. He had a hard attack of lagrippe which was followed by paralysis. He is survived by a wife, one daughter, Mrs. E. C. Waters of New Era, and three sisters: Mrs. Hattie Hutchinson of Oakland, Calif., Mrs. Delia True of Jacksonville, Ill., and Mrs. Mary Toplin of St. Johnbury, Vt. He was the last of four boys. Additional Comments: Henry's wife, Esther Ann Gokay, died April 27, 1834 in Nashville, MI. and is buried with Henry in the Inland Cemetery. Henry and Esther are my gg grandparents.
