"Dick" was born on November 25, 1920 in Owosso, Michigan. He attended Owosso High School, played on the tennis team and graduated early. Dick went to the University of Michigan receiving his B.S. in Engineering in 1941. He volunteered in WWII and served with the Signal Corp Intelligence in the Philippines and China. After returning home, Dick married Shirley Mae Morris. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary this year. Dick returned to active service during the Korean War and afterwards completed his doctorate in physics from the University of Michigan. He worked for many years with Union Carbide in New York and Indianapolis on various research projects. Never one to stop learning, after retiring to Tucson, Arizona, Dick decided to study law. He graduated in 1987 from the University of Arizona Law School at age 67. Known for his intellectual curiosity and great appetite for reading, Dick was also a master handyman. He poured many happy hours into rebuilding the family cottage on Crystal Lake in Beulah, Michigan, one of his favorite places. Dick was a loving and generous husband and father, devoted to his family, opening his heart and home to all. He took special pleasure in family gatherings and talking around the dinner table. He was a source of encouragement to many as is reflected in his pride of his family;s pursuits in law, medicine, computers, engineering, soil science, seamanship, social work and teaching. His memory lives on in all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Shirley; his daughter Julie Kebler and her sons Nick and Kyle in Seattle, Washington; his son Richard Kebler and his wife Laurel Yocom and their children Melanie, Nyssa and Wesley of Bend, Oregon; his daughter Karen and her husband Dave Pruitt of Republic, Washington; his son David Kebler of Holbrook, Arizona; and many friends in many states.
