Visitation will be held today, May 22, 2005, from 2 to 5 p.m., at the Bennett- Barz Funeral Home in Beulah. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 23, 2005, at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home. A full obituary will be in Monday's edition of the Record-Eagle. The Bennett-Barz Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements -------------- Traverse City Record Eagle - May 24,2005 Carol Irene Maginity - Died May 20, 2005 BENZONIA - Carol Irene Maginity, 71, of Benzonia, died unexpectedly Friday, May 20, 2005, at West Shore Medical Center in Manistee. She was born April 26, 1934, in Benzonia, the first daughter of Harriett and Ernest (Smeltzer) Johnson. On June 6, 1957, Carol married Larry Dean Maginity, and they celebrated 48 years together. Carol spent her whole life in the Benzonia area, and therefore had many great close friends who will certainly miss her warm smile and thoughtfulness. She enjoyed reading and baking, spending time with her family. The highlight of Carol's last four years was helping taking care of, nurturing and loving her grandson, Jacob. Carol is survived by her husband, Larry; her children, Brenda Maginity of Frankfort, Bonnie (Tim) Finch of Empire, Kim (Mary Garber) Maginity of Frankfort, and Lisa (Dan) Taber of Thompsonville; two grandchildren, Jessica (John) Armstrong-Baglien of Osseo, Wis., and Jacob Taber of Thompsonville; her great-grandson, Bryce Armstrong-Baglien of Osseo, Wis.; her brother, John Johnson of Benzonia; and her sister, Mary Lou (Michael) Thompson of Sawyer. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and a younger brother, Gary Johnson. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, May 23, at the Bennett- Barz Funeral Home in Beulah, with Evangelist Robert Bodell officiating. Visitation was held Sunday, May 22, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Munson Medical Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
