He was born Aug. 4, 1924, in Joyfield Township, the son of Harry and Grace (Long) Priest. Harry served in the U.S. Army from Nov. 23, 1948, to Oct. 4, 1954, when he was honorably discharged. Harry was a life-member of the American Legion Post 434 in Oak Creek, Wis. He was also a member of the Platte River Association. Harry had worked as a truck driver for Line Materials and for Appleton Electric, where he retired from in 1986. In his spare time, Harry enjoyed singing and visiting at the Gathering Place in Honor. On January 10, 1957, in South Milwaukee, Wis., Harry married Lois Eileen Blanchette, who survives him. He is also survived by his son, Keith (Charlotte) Priest of Jackson, Tenn.; daughter, Marlene Kukla of Milwaukee, Wis.; brothers and sisters, Donald Priest of South Milwaukee, Roberta Denune of Benzonia, William (Sheila) Priest of Beulah, Thomas (Henrietta) Priest of Beulah, Charles (Mary) Priest of Benzonia, Lloyd Priest of Beulah and Betty Lou Woertleboer of Frankfort; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Harry was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Erwin and Benjamin Priest; sister, Dorothy Corwin; and sister, Maude, during infancy. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 4, at 2 p.m. at the Bennett- Barz Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Maher officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday from noon until time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
