He was born Oct. 7, 1959, in Frankfort, the son of Richard and Carolyn (Livingston) Reed. Mike was currently employed at Smeltzer Orchard Company in Frankfort, where he had worked for over 10 years. In his spare time, Mike enjoyed playing golf and bowling. He was always willing to help others and will be dearly missed by those who knew him. Mike is survived by his wife, Donna Reed; his mother, Carolyn Reed of Benzonia; five children, Melissa Reed of Benzonia, Michael R. Reed of Benzonia, Jennie (Al) Moore of Grand Haven, Allie Schultz of Anderson, Ind., and Dewayne Schultz of Benzonia; five grandchildren, Autumn Reed, Alivia Reed, Shelby Moore, Taylor Sanford and Ryleigh Bergman; two brothers, Richard Reed of Benzonia and Robert Reed of Benzonia; two sisters, Jann Morrell of Benzonia and Betty (Greg) Ricket of Benzonia; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Richard Reed. Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah, with Mr. Gary Honeycutt officiating.
